Translation From Marketing-Speak to English of Selected Portions of an Email with a Very Expensive Graphic Design Shop
- Designer: overall, i think a light flash may just do the trick. i understand the budget constraint.
- Translation: we think adding flash to the web site will solve all your problems. the thing is, you got to pay us.
- Designer: we will provide the art direction for the flash animation (up to 2 hours @$150/hr) i.e. $300.
- Translation: we will give you a discount at $150 per hour to do the images for the flash. after which, you have to pay more if we can't finish it in 2 hours, or lose the entire thing. you need us.
- Designer: you can do the flash animation.
- Translation: we will not do the flash for you, only the images.
- Designer: pls understand that we really dont care about the $300, it's chargeable because it is a design discipline.
- Translation: we think we deserve the $300 because we are designers and you aren't. you need us.
- Designer: we can support you (art direction) to deliver an end product is something that all of us can accept, and will be proud to attach our names with.
- Translation: in case you aren't clear, let me repeat myself again: we will only provide you the images, but you will have to do the flash programming yourselves. you need us.
