MacBook Air's CPU slows down to 1.2 GHz when hot
If you’re selling a machine that is claimed to run at x GHz, then the thermals of the machine should be designed to ensure that the CPU can run at that clock speed regardless of its whether the CPU is utilized at 10% or 100%.
This reeks of deceptiveness, or minimally, its another nice example of Apple’s “form over function” stance.
Apple’s posturing about having a “faster” processor than other ultraportables (which usually have 1.2 GHz CPUs) is moot. Seems like the laws of physics is stacked against them.
